Physiotherapy | Taping
Taping can aid in the healing of an injured area of the body. It can do this in numerous ways, including protecting an area and decreasing movement around this area, inhibiting (switching off) an area, give feedback to an area in order to facilitate more ‘normal’ movement. Types of taping include rigid tape or kinesiotape (elasticated tape). Kinesiotape can often be seen on TV at the Olympics or during a soccer match. It is the brightly coloured tape you can see the athletes wearing.
